Armenia is one of the most underrated travel
destinations for Indian tourists. With its stunning
ancient monasteries, dramatic mountain landscapes,
vibrant capital city of Yerevan and genuinely warm
hospitality, Armenia offers a unique travel experience
that very few Indian travellers have discovered yet.
The good news for Indian passport holders is that
getting to Armenia is simpler than most people think.
Here is everything you need to know about the
Armenia visa process for Indians in 2026.
Do Indians Need a Visa for Armenia?
Yes, Indian passport holders require a visa to
enter Armenia. However Armenia offers two very
convenient options that make the process simple
and accessible for Indian travellers.
Option 1 is the Armenia e-Visa which you can
apply for online before you travel. Option 2 is
the Visa on Arrival which you can obtain directly
at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport.
Our strong recommendation is to apply for the
e-Visa in advance as it is faster at immigration,
avoids any potential queues at the airport, and
gives you certainty before you travel.
Armenia e-Visa for Indians — How to Apply
- The Armenia e-Visa is applied for entirely online
through the official Armenian government portal
at evisa.am. The process is straightforward. - Visit evisa.am and select India as your nationality.
- Choose your visa type — Tourist Visa for leisure
travel or Business Visa for work-related visits. - Fill in your personal details exactly as they
appear on your passport. - Upload a digital passport photograph meeting
the size and format requirements. - Pay the e-Visa fee online using a credit or
debit card. - Receive your e-Visa by email within 3 working
days in most cases. - Print your e-Visa and carry it with you to
show at immigration on arrival.
Armenia e-Visa Fees for Indians in 2026
The standard Armenia e-Visa fee for a 21-day
single entry visa is USD 31. An express e-Visa
with 3-hour processing is available for USD 60.
A 120-day multiple entry visa is available
for USD 60.
Armenia Visa on Arrival for Indians
If you prefer not to apply in advance you can
obtain a visa directly on arrival at Zvartnots
International Airport in Yerevan. The visa on
arrival desk is open 24 hours and the process
takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes.
You will need your valid passport, passport
photographs, and the visa fee in USD or Armenian
Dram. We recommend carrying the fee in USD as
it is widely accepted.
Documents Required for Armenia Visa
- Valid Indian passport with at least 6 months
validity beyond your planned departure date
from Armenia. - Passport-size photographs meeting Armenian
visa specifications. - Confirmed return flight tickets showing your
entry and exit dates. - Hotel booking confirmation or invitation letter
from a host in Armenia. - Bank statements from the last 3 months showing
sufficient funds for your trip. - Travel insurance is strongly recommended though
not mandatory. - For e-Visa applications all of the above must
be in digital format.
How Long Can Indians Stay in Armenia?
The standard tourist e-Visa allows a stay of
up to 21 days for a single entry visit. Extended
stay options of up to 120 days are available
through a multiple entry visa. If you wish to
stay longer than your visa allows you must
either apply for an extension through the
Armenian Police Migration Service or depart
and re-enter.
